12: In Community

There are some things in this world we are not meant to go through alone. The support and prayers of the people around us help spread the burden, and fuel the fires of redemption and love. The solitary journey through life’s deepest pains and injustices will wear out the soul, but the opportunity to bring trusted friends and a community of life into dark moments shifts the situation from draining-burden to community-strengthening-act-of-mercy-and-justice.


[Our responses and reactions to the things that happen around us reveal the depth of our character and nature.
They are opportunities, also, to show the character and love of God.
This Lenten Season I am practicing awareness by looking for deep truth in everyday things.

  1. Too true! And too easily forgotten as we struggle to make our way alone. I have something of that puritanical Victorian spirit that just thinks I should ‘sort it out myself!’ It’s the wrong way…
